Mrs. Noreen Bonestroo, age 65, of Hull, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at her residence.
There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, June 27, at 10:00am, at the American Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Steven Bierly will officiate. Interment will follow at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.
Noreen Joy was born on March 23, 1947, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Freemon and Tillie (Van Kalsbeek) Vande Stouwe. She was raised in Ireton and Hull, where she attended the Center No. 4 Country School and graduated from the Boyden Hull High School.
On June 29, 1966, she married Earl Bonestroo in Hull, where they made their home. She was a homemaker, and after attending the Le Mars Beauty College, she started her own beauty shop in her home.
Noreen was a member of the American Reformed Church and the Hull American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening, as well as painting, listening to music, and making crafts.
Survivors include her husband of almost 46 years, Earl; a son, Jason Bonestroo, of Sioux Center; a daughter and her husband, Robyn and Jeremy Ewalt, of Aberdeen, South Dakota; five grandchildren, Alicia, Alex, and Ava Bonestroo, and William and Paige Ewalt; two brothers and their wives, Allen and Bea Vande Stouwe, and Virgil and Marilyn Vande Stouwe, all of Hull; and a twin sister and her husband, Norma and Don Slothouber, also of Hull.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
