Philip H. Muehl married Catherine Weis on April 15,, 1902. Philip was born on July 29, 1877 and died September 13, 1950. Catherine was born March 6, 1878 and died November 11, 1966. they had five sons: Raymond, Ear, Arnold, Anton and Philip.
Raymond was born October 22, 1902 and died January 9, 1962. He married Ruth Neuroth on November 10, 1924 Ruth was born on September 20, 1906. They had five children Constance, Daniel, James, Patricia and Janet. Daniel died Jun 28, 1972.
Earl was born December 22, 1904. He never married and died October 7, 19777,
Arnold was born August 26, 1906 and died September 25, 1978. he married Myrtle Van Bergen and had four children,
Anton was born and died October 10, 1911.
Philip was born march 11, 1916. He married Ione Hammes on January 15, 1946. Ione was born September 13, 1917. They had six children: Mary, Barbara, Philip, Ione, Mark and Sadona.

Phil H. Muehl, town clerk at Granville for many years, died at his home at 5 o’clock P.M. Wednesday, September 13, of a heart attack, a few hours after arriving home from a visit with relatives in Eastern Iowa. He was 73 years, 1 month and 15 days.
Mr. Muehl was born July 29, 1877 at New Vienna, Iowa, son of Chris and Mary (Brecht) Muehl. On April 15, 1902, he married Catherine Weis in St. Joseph’s Church at Granville, where they have since made their home.
He was a faithful member of St, Joseph’s Parish, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Luxemburger Brotherhood of America, served his town and community well over a long period of years.
Survivors include his wife and four sons, namely, Raymond of Marcus; Earl of Indianapolis, Indiana; Arnold of Granville and Phil Jr., of Pocahontas; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Katherine of Los Angeles, California, Mike and Celia of Dubuque and Anton of Independence, Iowa. One son died in infancy.
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Saturday morning, September 16 at 9 o’clock. The Solemn Requiem High Mass was read by Reverend J.J. Dalhoff with Reverend Ray Pick of Ute, Iowa, deacon, Reverend Mc Evoy of Marcus, sub deacon and Reverend Raymond Calkins as master of ceremonies. Acolytes were Robert Lee Perlot. Robert Luken, Jerome Degen and John Schemmel.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Schumacher, Jno. Reeff, Arthur Schemmel, Nic Didler, Theo. Goergen and Paul Goergen. Acting pallbearers were Nick Burlage, M.H. Perlot, Joe Reim, Mike Harens, Joe Neuroth and Nick Schwebach. Burial was made in St. Joseph’s Cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home

MRS. PHILIP MUEHL RITES AT GRANVILLE
Funeral services for Mrs. Philip Muehl 88, Granville, were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic church. Rev. M .J. Becker officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Muehl died Friday at Sacred Heart hospital after an illness of three weeks.
The former Catherine Weis, she came to Granville in her youth and was married to Philip Muehl April 15, 1902, in Granville. Mr. Muehl died Sept. 13, 1950.
Survivors are three sons, Earl and Arnold of Granville and Philip of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Berg of Mason City, an Mrs. Julia Kuhl of Wilmont, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

From the Alton Democrat, February 1, 1919: MRS. MARY WEIS FUNERAL FRIDAY
Mrs. Mary Weis of Granville passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 29th, at the home of her daughter in Redfield, S.D., where she had gone to spend the winter. Mrs. Weis was 85 years of age and she had lived at Granville for about 25 years. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at nine o’clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Granville.
She was born in Luxemburg, but came to the United States when about 20 years of age, settling at Dubuque where she was later married to Peter Weis. Mrs. Weis is survived by seven daughters, namely, Mrs. Mat. Kellen of Alton; Mrs. Mat. Reith and Mrs. Phil Muehl of Granville; Mrs. Carl Verluis; Mrs. Joe Kuhl of Redfield, S.D.; Mrs. Ben Berg, Mason City, Iowa; Mrs. Oscar Kuhl of Wilmont, Minn. One son and two daughters preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Weis was a devoted mother and a faithful member of the Granville church and Rosary society. The family have the sympathy of many friends.

FUNERAL HELD FRIDAY – GRANILLE
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Weis, a resident of Granville for 25 years, were held Friday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic church, Granville. Rev. Father J. A. Gerlemann read the requiem high mass and Rev. Father Oken officiated at the cemetery. A beautiful sermon was delivered by Father Gerlemann in tribute to the beloved mother who passed away on January 29 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Kuhl, at Redfield, S.D.
All the surviving children were present at the funeral, also Henry Zens, a son-in-law, whose wife died two years ago, came from his home at Epiphany, S.D., his three children accompanying him, to attend the services.
Besides the seven daughters who survive their mother, she is also survived by forty-six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Weis was eighty-four years old.
