Funeral services: Monday, Nov. 3, 2025; United Church of Christ, Atlantic, IA, with military rites presented by the Elk Horn American Legion, Post #322. Burial was in Victoria Township Cemetery, rural Massena, IA.

Survived by: Wife of 57 years, Jackie of Elk Horn, IA; children, Andy (spouse, Kristi) Ring of Elk Horn, IA and Dan (spouse, Amanda) Ring of Minden, IA; grandchildren, Carlin Ring, Lane (spouse, Hannah) Ring, Kallen Ring and Raegan Ring; great-granddaughters, Briar and Lyla Ring; three step-grandchildren, Dustin, Evan (spouse, Erin) and Alise; 6 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Mick Ring of Neola, IA; sister, Susie (spouse, John) Jarosz of Cedar Rapids, NE; sister-in-law, Susan Ring of Fullerton, NE; brother-in-law, Bill (spouse, Lynn) Wiechman of Clarinda, IA; nieces; nephews; other family members and friends

Education: Attended Tri-Center School in rural Underwood, IA

Religious affiliation: Baptized and confirmed at St. Columbanus Church, Weston, IA; active member of the United Church of Christ, Atlantic, IA. Over the years he served as a deacon, roasted the hog for the annual hog roast and served as a youth leader for many years

Military service: Served with the Iowa National Guard; honorably discharged

Marriage: Jacqueline June Wiechman; Feb. 17, 1968; location not provided

Employment: Employed by Schildberg Construction Co., Atlantic Steel, owned and operated Ring Welding in Atlantic, and retired from Henningsen Construction as Shop Foreman in 2014. He loved helping farmers harvest their crops and had a cow/calf herd which was the highlight of his life.

Hobbies/Interests: former member of the Atlantic and Elk Horn (IA) Fire Departments; was Scout Leader for Troop 54; member, Elk Horn American Legion Post 322. With Jackie, they enjoyed vacationing in Alaska, Hawaii, Nashville, Branson and the Grand Canyon, trips taken prior to his bone marrow transplant in 2023. He enjoyed playing some golf, bartending, dancing, hunting, and, in his later years, especially enjoyed being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
