Employment: After her marriage, she and Jim moved to Mapleton, IA to begin their family; Dixie worked as a nurse’s aid. When they moved to Schuyler, NE in 1990 for Jim’s employment, she began her work as a paraeducator until their retirement in 2010 when they moved to Harlan, IA.
Hobbies/Interests: Was an avid reader and belonged to the local book club; she cheered on her grandkids’ at their multiple sporting events for many years; was also a loyal Nebraska Cornhusker fan; was known for baking cookies, sharing riddles, and having a home remedy for most all situations; mostly, she loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other family members.
