Terry L. Anderson - Age 66

Terry Lee Anderson was born on April 28, 1945 to Carl and Nell (Hansford) Anderson in Geneva, Illinois. He grew up in Batavia, Illinois. After his high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a fuel specialist from July of 1963 through May of 1964. He was also a certified scuba diver for the search and rescue team in Kane County, Illinois.

On May 17, 1975 he was united in married Lorie Christine Schuett in Batavia, Illinois. They had three children: Chad, Jaime, and Matthew.

Terry worked at Intersystems in Omaha, Nebraska for thirty-five years as an engineer and was proud of his work there. He enjoyed traveling and fishing but the joy of his life were his three grandsons. They enjoyed pizza and movies, camping, and fishing together and just cuddle time on Grandpa T’s lap.

Terry died on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa having attained the age of sixty-six years, five months, and twenty-five days. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Matthew in 2001, and his sister Barb Keeler.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years Lorie Anderson of Minden, Iowa; son Chad Anderson and his wife Jessica of Harlan, Iowa; daughter Jaime Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandsons Nicholas, Daniel, and Christian Anderson all of Harlan; brothers Donne Anderson of Salisbury, Maryland and Chuck Anderson and his wife Joan of Merrifield, Minneapolis, brother-in-law Leroy Keeler of Colgate, Oklahoma; his wife’s parents Ray and Shirley Schuett of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; brother-in-law Scott Schuett and his wife Pam of Springfield, Illinois; other family members and many friends.

Pastor Brian Wohlhuter officiated the 10:00 am funeral service at the Minden United Church of Christ in Minden, Iowa. Honorary casket bearers were Chuck Anderson and Donne Anderson. Military rites were held at the Minden Cemetery with Mike Holmberg, Doug Higginson, Jeff Witt, Mike Schneckloth, Dan Pogge and Tom Schneckloth serving as casket bearers.
