Survived by: Daughter, Elizabeth (spouse, John) Plott of Council Bluffs, IA; granddaughter, Jessica (spouse, Kevin) McCarthy; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Levi McCarthy, all of Council Bluffs, IA; brothers, Bernard Mengwasser of Altoona, IA, and Louis (spouse, Rosie) Mengwasser of Denison, IA; uncle, Lawrence Leenan of Harlan, IA.

Military service: Enlisted December 1946, U.S. Army Air Corps; stationed at Fort Crook, NE; in 1948, was assigned to the 5001st Supply Squadron in AK as an ammunition worker; honorably discharged as a Private First Class, USAF, on December 12, 1949

Marriage: Sarah Corinne Walker, May 1, 1952, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Harlan, IA

Employment: Employed by a plumbing firm in Harlan, IA, then by Harlan Municipal Utilities. Retired 1993.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed gardening and raising vegetables; annually participated in the Christmas Lights Contest in Harlan.
