Hobbies/Interests: Member, Shelby United Methodist Church, Shelby, IA. He loved the land; was a strong supporter of soil conservation, continuing to help on the farm even after his retirement, and spent time gardening. He enjoyed music, watching Guy Lombardo and Lawrence Welk on TV. With wife, he liked to travel, particularly to Canada and the western US
