Hobbies/Interests: collected matchbooks, owls, pens and pencils, and buttons; liked to make hand-tied quilts; enjoyed travel with spouse; active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby, IA, since 1950 and had served as church treasurer for 13 years, a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and was a member of the ladies group; on March 2, 1988, Sadie was honored to be recommended for the Degree of Chivalry of Rebekah Lodge #140, Shelby, IA
