Louis Dean Stockman, 74, of Weslaco, Texas, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Sunday evening, January 19, 2014, at his son’s home in DeWitt, Iowa.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be honored. The family will greet friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at his son Seth’s home at 2414 267th Ave. DeWitt. No service will be held.

Louis was born on December 10, 1939, the son of Louis W. and Margaret (Waggoner) Stockman. He graduated from Davenport High in 1958. Lou married Charlotte “Cheri” Bullock and later married Leila Haskins. He retired from Oscar Meyer in 1995 as a shipping supervisor.

Lou’s heart and soul was playing his horns (clarinet and saxophones), classic cars, car shows, shooting pool, and most of all, family and friends.

He is survived by sons Seth (Anita) Stockman of DeWitt, Scott (Crystal) Bowman, and Schuyler (Angie) Bowman both of Davenport; grandchildren Morgan Stockman, Tate Stockman, Brandon (Jammie) Bowman, Nicole (Clayton) Batchelor, Kyle (Audie) Bowman, Schuyler Jr. (Tabitha) Bowman, Austin Bowman, and Shelbiegh (Aaron) Bowman; 6 great-grandchildren.

Lou was preceded in death by both wives, his parents, two brothers and a sister.
