Final rites for Edward J. Thompson, 90, were held at the LeClaire Presbyterian church Nov. 3, 1990 with Dr. Stephen Ross officiating. Burial was in Glendale cemetery, LeClaire. Mr. Thompson died at the Iowa Masonic Nursing Home, Bettendorf, Oct. 30.

The son of William A. and Mary Elizabeth Lambeck Thompson, he was born at LeClaire Sept. 10, 1900. He married Alice E. Hickey at Davenport Dec. 21, 1927. She died Aug. 20, 1990.

He retired from the Federal Barge Line, St. Louis, Mo. in 1953 where he had been a steam engineer for 32 years. He was then employed by the town of LeClaire.

He was a member of the LeClaire Presbyterian church, a 64 year member and past master, Snow Lodge #44, AF&AM, LeClaire, past patron of Silver Creek Chapter #302, Order of the Eastern Star, the Davenport Consistory, Kaaba Shrine, the High-12 club and the Davenport Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a sister, Blanche Roller, Oxford Junction and a niece, Mary Lee Stoddard, Atlanta, Ga.
