Funeral services for Alvin Lilienthal, 75, Durant, were held June 9, 1990 at the Lacock Funeral Home, Durant, with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Lori Leach was organist and Michael Burns was vocalist. Pallbearers were Allan Lacock, Les Bland, Herschel Fitzer, Gene Compton, James Walker and Arno Paustian. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Lilienthal died June 6 at the Lutheran Home, Davenport.

The son of Henry and Lillie Graffing Lilienthal, he was born Aug. 27, 1914 in Scott county, near Durant. He married Dorothy Ploen Dec. 16, 1939 in Davenport.

Mr. Lilienthal attended Brown's Business College in Davenport and had been a member of the Durant Cemetery Association for many years. He had farmed in the Durant area his entire life and was retired.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Charles, Durant; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Barb) Wuestenberg, Durant; 2 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Albert, Raymond and Lawrence, all of Durant; and 3 sisters, Meta Otto, Durant; Mrs. Carl (Stella) Ploen, Wilton and Mrs. Ralph (Alice) Sievers, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
