Private burial services for Viola C. Steffen, 86, were held at the Maysville cemetery March 16. Miss Steffen died at Manor Health center, Davenport, March 22.

The daughter of Henry and Frieda Herbst Steffen, she was born at Dixon Aug. 26, 1903 and spent her life in the Dixon area. She worked as a telephone operator at the Dixon Telephone Co. for 25 years.

She is survived by a niece and 3 nephews, including Ralph Steffen, New Liberty and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by twin brothers, Harry and Herbert.
