Obituary of Philip Alan McNaught
Philip “Phil” A. McNaught, 73, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on January 30, 2021 at ManorCare. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm til time of service. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to In Fisherman Quad Cities Club. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com

Phil was born on April 8, 1947 in French Camp, California to Dale and Barbara (Lynch) McNaught. He served in the United States Navy from 1965-1968. Phil was united in marriage to Kathleen Foley in October 1976. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became an ironworker for Local III, retiring in 2000. He also taught Ironworker apprentice classes.

To say Phil was an avid fisher is an understatement. There are very few photos of him without a fishing pole in his hand. He also enjoyed playing poker and taking yearly trips to Wisconsin with his grandkids. He was a member of Local III, QC Fisherman and Conservation Alliance. Phil, alongside with his wife fostered 53 children. He was a loving son, husband, brother, father and grandfather. Words cannot express in detail how wonderful he was.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy; children, Theresa Norman, Tina (Steve) Wagner and Brittney McNaught; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Nicki Dice and Janice Wilen; special daughter, Deseree Border and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Krista Cuppy.
