Bert Calvin Callahan, son of Mike and Mary Callahan, was born June 11, 1882, in Marshall county, Iowa and passed away August 11, 1966, in the Ringgold County Hospital at the age of 84 years and two months.

On December 7, 1906, he was united in marriage with Jessie June Clouse, and except for a few years in Marshall county, they spent most of their married life on a farm in the Grant Center community. They moved to Clearfield in 1936, where he was a member of the Christian Church.

Due to the ill health of Mrs Callahan, they moved to the Clearview Home in 1961.

Mr. Callahan was preceded in death by his wife on August 6, of this year; his parents; three brothers and a half-sister.

He is survived by a sister, Pearl Owen, of Marshalltown, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held August 13, from the Christian Church in Clearfield, with the Rev. Harvey Ruegsegger officiating. Casketbearers were Roth Nevill, Earl Gaule, John Duey, R. E. Spurrier, Gene Baxter and Horace Nelson. Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetary.
Funeral pianist was Mrs Marie Crew, soloist was Ann Cordell.
