MRS. H. M. CHRISTY

Rachel JULIEN was born in Auglaize county, Ohio, June 15, 1825, and died at the home of her son, Thomas CONNER, Leon, Iowa, March 26, 1916, aged 90 years, 9 months and 11 days. In the year 1840 she was united in marriage to Henry M. CHRISTY. To this union three children were born, two of these having passed to the great beyond, Wm. H. CHRISTY, who enlisted in the union army in 1862 and died in the hospital at Nashville, Tennessee, January 27, of the same year, and Rebecca M. CHRISTY who died in infancy. Mrs. Ellen J. CHRISTY RYAN, the remaining child of this union lives near Ellston, Iowa. Henry M. CHRISTY died in Auglaize county, Ohio, in the year 1846.

In the year 1850 Mrs. CHRISTY was united in marriage to William CONNER. To this union six children were born, three boys and three girls. Two of these children have passed on before, Mary Etta CONNER in 1855, Eliza A. CONNER in 1857. The children surviving are as follows: Mrs. Martha A. LEETHY, Beaconsfield, Iowa; Amos W. CONNER, Central City, Nebraska; Thomas P. CONNER, Leon, Iowa; Edward C. CONNER, Decatur City, Iowa. In the year 1873, Mr. CONNER with his family moved from Auglaize county to Decatur county. He died at Ellston, Iowa, March 14, 1896.

With her husband Mrs. CONNER lived the life of a Christian. At the age of 15 she united with the Methodist church, and later with her husband moved her membership from that church to the United Brethren, where she faithfully held membership till the time of her death. Her husband has a record of 63 years of Christian service, she has a record of more than 75 years. Her constant desire was to be among Christian people and converse concerning the things of Christ.

Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church on Tuesday, March 28, at 1 p. m. by the pastor, Henry ESCH. Interment at Ellston, Iowa.
