OBITUARY ~ HARRY REES
May 26, 1897 ~ August 19, 1967

Harry Rees, son of William and Mary Sinclair Rees, was born May 26, 1897, in Wayne county, Iowa, and passed away Aug. 19, 1967, in the Ringold county hospital Mount Ayr.

On Jan. 1, 1929, he was united in marriage with Lucille Waysman, and of this union were born four children - Norma, Glea, Harry, Jr., and Larry.

At an early age, he became a member of the Baptist church at Unity.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Blockton American Legion. Until his retirement in 1961, he farmed in the Mount Ayr and Blockton vicinities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Will and Frank, and a granddaughter.

Left to mourn his death are his widow, Lucille; two sons, Harry, Jr. and Larry; two daughters, Norma and Glea; two sons-in-law, Kenneth CREVELING and Kenneth ANDREWS; a daughter-in-law, Virginia REES; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Ulric and Oma WAYSMAN; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Vern, John, Ralph and Robert, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Aug. 21, from the Prugh-Dunfee Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Albert R. Snyder, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Doyle Adams, vocalist, was accompanied by Margaret Pence, organist, and casketbearers were Warren Drake, Floy Drake, Henry Moser, Wilbur Faris, Clarence Braby and Hugh Miller. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery at Mount Ayr.
