Evelyn Eunice Jeanes Reynolds was born in Ringgold County, Iowa on March 28, 1922. She was the youngest of twelve children born to James Edgar Jeanes and Etta Bye Jeanes. Her aunt and uncle, Harry and Margaret Jeanes House, raised Evelyn from age two in a home just south of Clearfield. Evelyn graduated from the Clearfield High School in 1939. In May of 1941 she was united
in marriage to Merril T. Reynolds at the United Methodist Parsonage in Clearfield.

In 1947, after Merril returned from military service during World War II, they built a small house in Kelly, Iowa, just south of Ames so Merril could attend college. They moved the family to Boulder, Colorado in 1952 after Merril was offered a job there as a carpenter. In 1970 they decided to make another big jump to Burbank, California and finally settled in North
Hollywood in 1972.

Evelyn started working as a secretary at a college in Ames and continued that occupation until her retirement in 1985 from the First Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, California when Merril became ill and needed her at home. He passed away in January of 1991.

She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who adored her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook. She had a variety of interest such as collecting antique milk glass and building miniature dollhouses with Merril. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting and raising tropical birds. Evelyn took art classes every chance she could as she loved learning new things. She also grew prize winning roses.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Reynolds of Venture, California, her daughter, Linda M. Naugle and husband Jerome of Boulder, Colorado; four grandchildren, Karen, Larisa, Lacey and Lane; and two great-grand children, Tyler and Dylan.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merril in 1991 and all of her brothers and sisters.
