Gordon, Connie Sue -
Funeral services for Connie Sue Gordon, age 48, of Maryville, Mo., were held Dec. 30 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Maryville, Mo. She passed away on Dec. 25, 2000, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo., after a brief illness.
Graveside services were held on Dec. 30 at the Clearfield Cemetery in Clearfield.
Connie was the daughter of Dr. M.T. Gordon of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Bernard and Jean Slocum Allen of Prescott.
She is survived by three sisters, Cynthia Baker (husband Galen) of Clearfield, Kathy Brown (husband Gary) of Lenox, and Christie Brown
(husband Bill) of Lenox; half brother Jumar Gordon (wife Wendy) of Cheyenne; step-sister Abbie Allen of Grimes, Iowa; step-brothers Bernard D. Allen of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Lee Allen (wife Cheryl) of Sugar Land, Texas; 10 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; special friend Pat Cook; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, step-nieces, nephews and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by an infant sister; her maternal grandparents, Drs. James E. and Anna L. Slocum; and paternal grandparents Ed
and Ruth Gordon.
She was born Dec. 14, 1952 in Des Moines. She grew up in Baxter, Iowa, and Clearfield. She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1971.
She attended Graceland University in Lamoni and Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, where she graduated with a degree in English. Later she enrolled in nursing school at Southwestern Community College in Creston, and attained her associate degree in nursing. She
began her nursing career at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. She was a registered nurse at that hospital.
Connie's interests included music, equestrian events, biking, running, hiking, swimming and golf.
She was a member of the Cornelia Chapter OES of Clearfield and the RLDS Church in Maryville.
Memorials are to Nursing Services at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville and the RLDS Church in Maryville.
Price Funeral Home in Maryville was in charge of arrangements.
