OBITUARY ~ LINDA SUE MANNING
November 19, 1956 ~ November 17, 2013

Linda Susan MANNING, daughter of Jack & Phyllis (HOLLAND) MANNING, was born on November 19, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Linda attended Woodlawn Elementary School; Monroe Elementary School's Talented and Gifted Program; Meredith Middle School; and Hoover High School, graduating in 1975. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, and a Master's and Specialist degree from Iowa State University.

Linda lived for over 25 years in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was a School Psychologist with the Robbinsdale school system. She was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, the Minnesota Association of School Psychologists, and the Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.

Linda had a great love for her work at the school, for children, and for her family. She played the piano and the violin, and was a member of the Linden Hills Orchestra. She was married to Tom McDougall before her marriage to Murray LIPSMAN. Murray preceded her in death in 2007.

Linda was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease in 2009. In 2010, she moved to Woodlands Creek Care Facility in Clive, Iowa. She moved home in September to be cared for by her parents before moving into Clearview Home in Mount Ayr in October of this year. She passed away at Clearview Home on November 17, 2013.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents Jack & Phyllis MANNING of Beaconsfield, IA; two sisters, Jan MANNING of Des Moines, IA and Vicki HARRINGTON of West Des Moines, IA; a nephew, Joey HARRINGTON & wife Elizabeth of Sunnyvale, California and a niece, Katie HARRINGTON of Kansas City, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to any of the following favorite charities of Linda's: the Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health at www.macmh.org; the St Joseph's Home for Children at www.cctwincities.org/stjosephshomeforchildren; the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Iowa at http://www.alz.org/greateriowa/ or HCI Care Services at www.hospiceofcentraliowa.org/.

A memorial service will be held at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 2900 49th Street, Des Moines, Iowa, on Monday, December 2, at 2 p.m. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements.
