Services for Ruby Ellen Parker were held May 22, 1997 at the United Church of Diagonal with Rev. Pam Farren officiating.
Music was provided by organist, Claire Newton.
Casketbearers were Barton Parker, Ted Parker, Kirk Parker, Chad Parker, James Lett, and Glen Hall Jr.
Ruby Ellen Parker was born one of 12 children to Willis and Elizabeth (Tillison) Frazier on July 16, 1910 in Salisbury, Missouri. And on May 19, 1997 at the Lenox Care Center, Ruby left this life as we know it.
On March 16, 1932, Ruby was united in marriage to Archibald McCulley Parker. To this union came the blessing of five children. Ruby lived most of her life northwest of Diagonal with the exception of her time in Danville, Indiana.
Ruby worked as a homemaker, and she was a very active farm wife-partner with her husband, Archie. Ruby enjoyed working outdoors with the good earth. And she was very good at it.
Ruby also enjoyed cooking and music.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Archie in 1964, eldest daughter, Nadine in 1994 and her youngest son, Alvin in 1995.
Surviving Ruby in death are two sons; Kenneth (Sharon) Parker of Humboldt, Iowa; and Calvin (Tena) Parker of Coon Rapids, Iowa.
One daughter, Marcia Lett of Lamoni, Iowa. Sixteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
She was laid to rest at the Rising Sun Cemetery at Diagonal, Iowa.
Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
