Dowell, Fred W. -
Fred W Dowell, 70, a longtime resident of the Clearfield community, died at his home in Clearfield at 11 a.m. Friday. He had operated a restaurant in Clearfield for many years and later was in the upholstering business before retiring several years ago.

Funeral services were at the Crew funeral home in Clearfield Sunday, Rev Kenneth Dailey officiating. Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.

Mr Dowell is survived by his widow, Minnie; a daughter, Mrs Louise Marrow of Seymour, two sons Therrin of Des Moines and Gordon of Adel, six grandchildren, three brothers, Clifford and Emmett of Henningsford, Nebr., and Frank in Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr and Mrs Dowell had observed their golden wedding anniversary Christmas day.
