OLD SETTLER DIES.

Lewis Cass WIMER was born in Wooster, Wayne county, Ohio October 21, 1851 and departed this life December 28, 1920 at the age of 69 years, two months and seven days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. WIMER.

On August 29, 1872 Mr. WIMER was united in marriage to Alsista PEFFERS of North English, Iowa. To this union thirteen children were born, two sons and a daughter died in infancy and the remaning with the wife survive him. They are J. S. WIMER, of Des Moines, W. M., of Ute, Bert, of Mount Ayr, Mrs. Rose WHEELER, of Cloverton, Minn., John, of Mount Ayr and Jake, Ethel, Clifford and Cecil at home. Also one brother and two sisters, W. M., of Neola; Mrs. Mark NEWLAND, of Neola, and Mrs. James MUSHRUSH, of California. Besides these there are twenty-two grand children.

In the year of 1881 Mr. WIMER and his family moved to Ringgold county, settling on a farm in Washington township, where he lived until the fall of 1904 when he moved to Creston. In the year of 1917 they moved to Cloverton, Minn. Shortly after this Mr. WIMERS'S health began to decline and in August, 1918, he returned to Iowa so that the climate might benefit his health. Mr. WIMER was of a kindly disposition, always trying to do or say something to cheer others. He will be greatly missed in the home.

Thus ends the career of a good husband, father and neighbor.

The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. WRIGHT. The remains were laid to rest Saturday, January 1st in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr.
