OBITUARY.

Miss Betsey Glover was born in Cortland County, New York, April 25, 1840. She was married to Henry W. DOUGLAS at Cortland, N. Y., Oct. 3, 1860. There were born to this union three sons and two daughters; W. [illiam] H. [enry], Clarence [Charles], Jasper, Jessie and Miss Ida, who married Rev. MERRIMAN, of Marengo, Iowa.

Mrs. DOUGLAS was stricken on Thanksgiving Day between 11 and 12 o'clock and soon fell into an unconscious state and remained in that condition until her death December 1, at 6 p. m.

She became a Christian when young, uniting with the Baptist church in her 18th year. She subsequently united with the Christian church and remained in their fellowship until her death. She was a fond and affectionate mother and faithful wife.

The funeral services took place at the Baptist church, Tuesday, December 3, at 1:30 p. m., conducted by Rev. D. W. Griffith. A large crowd was at the funeral, which shows the love and esteem in which the deceased was held by her many friends. The floral offerings were exceptionally beautiful. The ladies of the W. R. C. held a short service after the sermon. Interment took place in the Bedford cemetery.

Mrs. W. H. DOUGLAS.

A large number of friends attended the funeral of Mrs. H. W. DOUGLAS, whose death has been chronicled. The grief stricken husband and family have the sympathy of all.

The services were held at the First Baptist church at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon and were conducted by Rev. D. W. GRIFFITH. The interment was in the Bedford [Rose Hill] cemetery.

OBITUARY.

Betsy GLOVER was born in Willett, Cortland County, New York, April 25th, 1840. She was married to H[enry]. W. DOUGLAS October 4th, 1860. To this union five children were born, four of whom, William H.; Mrs. Ida M. MERRIMAN; C[larence]. C[harles]. and Jasper A. DOUGLAS survive their mother. Jessie DOUGLAS died in Bedford July 10, 1898.

The family came west from New York in the spring of 1869, and located in Ringgold County, where they resided twenty years. They have resided in Bedford and vicinity during the past ten years.

Mrs. DOUGLAS united with the Baptist church when 18 years old and was a member of the Christian church at Gravity at the time of her death, which occurred in Bedford at 5:50 p. m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Death resulted from cerebro apoplexy.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. D. W. GRIFFITH, were held at the Bedford Baptist church at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday. The pastor spoke strong words of comfort and consolation to the sorrow stricken family, and the choir sang very appropriate and touching musical selections. Beautiful and profuse floral offerings symbolized the love and sympathy of friends.

The services were under the auspices of the W. R. C. and the beautiful ritualistic ceremonies were very impressive. The interment was in Bedford [Rose Hill] cemetery.
