OBITUARY ~ KENNETH L. "KEN" MUNYON

Kenneth L. MUNYON, 86, of Olathe, Colo., passed away July 8, 2011, at his home.

He was born August 17, 1924 to Loren and Enid (FULTON) MUNYON at Kellerton, Iowa. He spent his childhood and graduated high school in Davis City, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Ken had also resided in Truro, Iowa, then moved to LaJunta, Colo., before moving to Olathe, Colo., where he made his home until his time of death. He married his wife, Marguerite, on September 4, 1955 in LaJunta, Colo.

Ken enjoyed the outdoors and working the land. He enjoyed farming and ranching. He loved horses and was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and the Four Corners Cutting and Reigning Horse Association. Ken was an accomplished saddle maker. He loved the mountains and going fishing and flew airplanes for many years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marguerite, of the family home in Olathe, Colo.; children, Randy WHITE of Denver, Colo., Debra (Lance) HOLBROOK of Delta, Colo., Matt MUNYON of Olathe, Colo.; and brother, Larry (Cindy) of Olathe, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dean; three brothers; one sister; and daughter-in-law, Marjorie.

Memorial services were held July 15, 2011, at the Olathe Assembly of God Church in Olathe, Colo.

Burial followed at the Olathe Cemetery.
