OBITUARY ~ GENEVIEVE ELLEN "JENNY" (WILLIAMSON) SCHAEFFER

Genevieve Ellen WILLIAMSON, daughter of John and Catherine WILLIAMSON, was born Nov. 19, 1892, at Corydon, Iowa, and passed away Dec. 14, 1979 in the Clearview Home [Mount Ayr] at the age of 87 years and 25 days.

She moved to Farragut where she graduated from high school. She taught country school around Riverton for 13 years.

On June 22, 1927, she was united in marriage to Oscar SCHAEFFER and they lived in Riverton. She lived in Beford several years before going to the Clearview Home on Feb. 22, 1979.

Jenny, as she was known to her relatives and friends, had no children. She considered her niece, Catherine, and her family as her own family. She took an interest in all of her nieces and nephews and their families.

She was a kind and considerate wife and aunt, and a friend to all who knew her. She was blessed with a long life and will be sadly missed by all.

Jenny attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bedford as long as her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, on sister and three brothers.

Jenny leaves to cherish her memory, her nieces, Catherine and husband, Bill CRAWFORD of Mount Ayr; Barbara and her husband, Bob OLENIUS of Clarinda; Lois and husband, Boyd FICHTER of Randolph; and nephews, Jack WILLIAMSON, and wife Phyllis of Emerson; and Bernard WILLIAMSON, and wife, Jo of Loveland, Colo.; and all of their families. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Crystal WILLIAMSON of Glenwood, and Mae WILLIAMSON of Sidney Health Care Center; other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held Dec. 17, from the Sacred Heart Church, conducted by Father Don BROCK. Kenneth BURRIGHT, vocalist, was accompanied at the organ by Mike GREENE. Casketbearers were nephews, Bob OLENIUS, Jack WILLIAMSON, Larry CRAWFORD, Harold CRAWFORD, and Bernard CRAWFORD. Graveside services were at 2:30 at the Riverton Cemetery. Shum-Novinger Funeral Home of Bedford was in charge of the services.
