OBITUARY ~ GEORGE EDISON SEGO

George Edison SEGO, 61, the son of George Edison SEGO and Alice Arlene DAY SEGO EBERLY and step-son of William EBERLY, was bron Aug. 9, 1944, at Sedalia, Mo. He died at his home in rural Diagonal on May 22, 2006.

He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Everett and Frances BOLES. He graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1962. He married Judy Ann O'DELL on Sept. 16, 1962. They became the parents of three daughters, Bonnie, Peggy and Cindy.

Mr. SEGO farmed all of his adult life, as he learned from his uncle. He had beehives and sold honey through his Honey Dew Honey Farm. He enjoyed attending flea markets. He was a member of the Grand River Lions Club, First Responders and the Grand River Volunteer Fire Department.

Preceding him in death were his mother and step-father; Everett and Frances BOLES; Judy SEGO; and great-granddaughter Lexy QUIGLEY.

Survivors include his three daughters, Bonnie ALEXANDER and husband Mike of Indianola, Peggy JONES and husband Richard of Osceola, and Cindy RICHARDSON and husband Rodney of Tama; seven grandchildren, Kara and Meghan ARNOLD, Allen, Katie and ShayDe JONES, and Denise and Calvin RICHARSON; great-grandson, Gavin QUIGLEY, sister, Jane BOWLIN and husband Don of Des Moines; nieces, Michelle WICKER of Altoona and Debra STONEHOCKER of Rockwell City; sister-in-law, Edna May JOHNSON of Des Moines and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon on May 25, with Pastor Rick HAWKINS officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the Grand River Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established by the family.
