ROBERT WESLEY MARRS ... Robert Wesley Marrs of Corvallis, Ore., died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1990, of natural causes at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 81 years old.

He was born Feb. 27, 1908, in Saline, Mo., to Louis and Alice Johnson Marrs. He was raised in Cainsville, Mo.

On August 21, 1934, he married Vester Cleveland in Princeton. They moved to Mt. Ayr, Iowa, and then in February 1936 they moved to Cainsville. June of 1936 they moved to Corvallis.

Mr. Marrs worked in agriculture in Corvallis. In 1940 he took a job in the shipyard in Portland, Ore. Following World War II he went to work for Abraham Construction Co. in 1945. In 1954, he started his own building construction business. In 1964, he retired from the construction business and opened his own real estate company. He held a real estate broker's license until his full retirement in 1974.

He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Vester Marrs of Corvallis; three sons, Robert R. Marrs of Grants Pass, T. Wesley Marrs of Portland and Loris L. Marrs of Corvallis: a brother, George Marrs of Trenton; two sisters, Victoria Wishon of Portland and Ida Mae Keller of Des Moines; a sister-in-law, Mae Marrs: 12 grandchildren: 11 great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services ere held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Oaklawn Memorial Park in Corvallis. Pastor Robert W. Mathews officiated. The McHenry Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
