OBITUARY - KENNETH CHARLES "KEN" RAMSBOTTOM

Kenneth Charles RAMSBOTTOM, 87, of Creston died Feb. 25, 2005, at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Creston. The Rev. Clark FINEHOUT will officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. A memorials has been established in his name.

Mr. RAMSBOTTOM, son of Lela (LINK) SMITH and Roy RAMSBOTTOM, was born Feb. 6, 1918, east of Creston. He was educated in Highland No. 2 country school and graduated from Creston High School in 1937. On Nov. 21, 1939, he married Byrlee DIXON at the Methodist Church in Creston. They lived east of Creston farming there until 1956, then moved to Ringgold County to farm. In 1965, they moved to Creston where he worked at Purolator, until retiring in 1975. They moved back to their farm east of Creston in 1973. In 1997, they moved to L & M Mobile Court in Creston. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eagles Lodge, both of Creston. He helped originate the Antique Rustic Relic Model A Club.

Survivors include his wife, Byrlee RAMSBOTTOM of Creston; two daughters, Dixie (husband Joe) SCHERFF of Manly and Rhonda Sue (husband Dwight) GILES of Greely, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Angela and Tricia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father- and mother-in-law, son Charles LeRoy RAMSBOTTOM in 1961 and brother-in-law and his wife, Leo and Gleah DIXON.
