OBITUARY - GENE and BETTY CULER
Visitation for Gene & Betty will be from 4:00-8:00 pm with family present from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, April 13 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines, with joint graveside services set for 11:00 am on Tuesday at Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa. The family will gather at 10:00 am Tuesday at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Betty CULVER was born in Toledo, Iowa in 1945 and died April 11. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in January 1962. She worked at Bankers Life Company (now Principal Financial) for 40 years in various areas of the Pension (RIS) area.
Gene CULVER, son of Sam & Florence (DAVENPORT) CULVER, was born October 27, 1937 near Kellerton, Iowa. He passed away April 7, 2009. Gene graduated from Mt. Ayr High School in 1956 and moved to Des Moines. He worked at Bankers Life Company (now Principal Financial) for 41 years as an offset printer. Gene and Betty were married in February 1967.
Together, they are survived by children Ken (Darcy) CULVER of Des Moines, Ron (Sheryl) CULVER of Van Meter, DeAnna (Cole) DAVIS and Becky CULVER, both of Cabot, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren Josh DAVIS, Ethan CULVER, and Kacie CULVER; 4 step-grandchildren Robert GULLION, Dawn SCOTT, T. J. & Mark MICHELSEN; in addition Betty is survived by her mother Grace SICKELS; sister Darcy CULVER; brother Walter SWENSON and David SICKELS and numerous nieces & nephews; Gene is also survived by a sister Pauline MINNICK; niece Elaine MORRIS.
In lieu of flowers, Betty and Gene requested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the Animal Rescue League.
