PVT George Allen McCREARY was born in Atlantic, Iowa, on August 2, 1896. He enlisted with the 54th Ambulance Corps during World War I, and died in 1918 while in service. He was interred at Centenary Cemetery near Knowlton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
