DEATH of MISS EVA G. TOWNSLEY.

The death of this estimable young lady, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira TOWNSLEY, occurred on Monday morning Oct. 7, at 2:30 a.m. Her sickness was only about one week in duration and seemed malignant from the start. She had been known as a young person of remarkable vigor of body and apparently had the promise of a long life. Hence the announcement of her serious sickness and death came as an unexpected shock to her many friends and the whole community. But seldom indeed does sympathy flow out so fully to bereaved parents as in this case. It is the loss of an only daughter taken suddenly and in the prime of promising life. Miss TOWNSLEY was held in high esteem by many friends in the church and vicinity. In just a few days, Oct. 16, she would have reached the eighteenth year of her age. She was a member of the high school class of 1896 and had for a long time been a member of the United Presbyterian church of Mt. Ayr. Her death is felt as a serious loss to the home, the church and the Young People's Society. The funeral took place from the home on Tuesday, October 8, at 10 a.m. and was conducted by her pastor Rev. H. T. JACKSON, the burial taking place in Rose Hill cemetery in Middle Fork township (sic). It was a sad event and cast a gloom over the whole community.
