OBITUARY - HERMAN TIPTON

Herman TIPTON, son of Leonard David & Martha (DILLARD) TIPTON, was born March 20, 1930 in Reger, Missouri. Herman departed this life on October 2, 2008 and went to meet his maker.

Herman worked at several different jobs in life which helped him meet so many different friends. Herman hauled lime for Dee LAMB and then hauled feed for Jess & Max ANDERSON at Mount Ayr Mill & Feed, meeting all the farmers. Herman helped Lefty GEIST run the pool hall. He was town marshal and drove the school bus on many activities, meeting a lot of young kids who still talk to him. Herman was called "happy Herman" by so many for his friendliness and happy sense of humor. He would say that a stranger is just a friend you have yet to meet. Herman used to love to shoot pool and play pitch with his old friends. He loved to hunt & fish. He was known as a coon hunter from way back. The TIPTON family lived in Twin Falls, Idaho where he met and married his wife Thelma MICKAEL. God granted them the privilege of spending 57 loving years together. To their home was born 3 sons; Clifford & Roger of Mount Ayr and Richard of Murray. They are Herm’s pride & delight along with his grandchildren Jenny, Jake, Jeremy & Miracle, and a great-granddaughter Haley.

Herman attended church nearly all of his life, as a young boy walking miles to the country church with his mother. At an early age, Herman found the Lord and was baptized into the Free Methodist Church. Bart SHIELDS, Ron ROACH & Herman attended church from here to Leon and back. If you knew Herman you knew how much faith & love for the Lord he had.

Herman was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, and mother Martha; brothers Harold, Wayne, and Ronnan; sisters Mildred & Marie; father-in-law Dick MICKAEL & mother-in-law Clara; sisters-in-law Pearl & Betty; brothers-in-law Doyle MURPHY, Dude JONES, Paul MILLER, Herchel MARTIN, Willit MARTIN, James MICKAEL, Arthur MICKAEL, and Charles MICKAEL; nephews Philip JONES, Harlan JONES, Billy TIPTON, James TIPTON,; niece Carolyn MEGELE.

Herman leaves to mourn his passing his wife Thelma; sons Clifford & friend Barbara, Richard & friend Martina, and Roger & friend Sherry; grandchildren Jenny, Jake & wife Bre, Jeremy, and Miracle; great granddaughter Haley; sister Kathleen MILLER & Dan, brother Gerald & Linda TIPTON; sisters-in-law Kathy TIPTON, Donna CLAIR, Jean MICKAEL, Carolyn PAXSON, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
