OBITUARY.

Died, at Mt. Ayr, Iowa, on the 1st day of November, 1872, Sarah J. F. TILBURY, wife of Rev. C. TILBURY, aged 31 years, 4 months and 25 days.

The subject of the above notice was formerly Sarah J. E. McKIBBEN and was born in Seneca County, Ohio, June 6th, 1841, from whence she removed with her parents to Hillsdale County, Michigan, at the age of sixteen, and two years thereafter was married and during the same year removed with her husband to Champaign County, Illinois. During their residence there she united with the Baptist Church. After a residence of eight years as above, they again removed to Alton, Illinois, where she labored hard and thereby assisted her now disconsolate husband in procuring the means necessary to educate him for the ministry. During her life she was called to part with five children, and through all this flood of sorrow she never murmered or complained, but submitted to the dispensations of Providence as becomes all who profess the love of Christ. She has now but followed those near and dear to her and leaves a mother, two brothers, a husband and two small children to mourn the loss of her who was ever their kind friend and helper.

NOTE: Sarah J. F. (McKIBBEN) TILBURY was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
