OBITUARY - MRS. NANCY SWETT.

Nancy TACKETT, daughter of Lewis and Frances TACKETT, was born in Cedar county, Missouri, January 1, 1861, and passed away at Mount Ayr, Iowa May 11, 1933, aged 72 years, four months and 10 days. When two years of age she moved with her parents from Cedar county to Taylor county, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to William SWETT October 12, 1901, at Bedford, Iowa. To this union two children were born, one son who died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Goldie LINK, of Blockton, Iowa. Her husband preceded her in death July 14, 1931. She leaves to mourn her departure one daughter and one brother, Mr. Jerry TACKETT, of Maloy, Iowa; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

At an early age she united with the Baptist church at Mt. Zion, Iowa. Mrs. SWETT was a faithful companion, loving mother and excellent neighbor.

The funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Athelstan, Iowa, May 14, 1933, conducted by Challie E. GRAHAM, assisted by David H. DYE, and the remains laid to rest in the Athelstan cemetery. The music was furnished by R. C. FORD, Gordon GRIFFITH, Pearl GRIFFITH, and Edith SIMMONS, with Ila KING presiding at the piano. The hymns sung were "Whiter than the Snow," "Tell Mother I'll Be There" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". The pall bearers were M. F. OLDER, Clyde HAYES, J. E. RAPER, Al KEMERIE, Roy WEAVER and Bert OLDER.

NOTE: Nancy was the second wife of William Thomas SWETT. William was born at Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa on December 5, 1852, and died on July 13, 1931 with interment at Platteville Cemetery, Platteville, Taylor County, Iowa. William's first wife was Mary Ellen (RAPER) and to this marriage 10 children were born. Mary Ellen (RAPER) SWETT was born in Clay County, Indiana on August 28, 1859 and died of typhoid on December 14, 1899, Athelstan, Iowa, with interment at Platteville Cemetery, Taylor County, Iowa.
