OBITUARY.

Alta STEPHENS, eight year old daughter of Mrs. Oliver STEPHENS died suddenly of croup Thursday night at the home of her uncle, B. W. TOOTHAKER in Rice township. Her mother, who was in Montana, was telegraphed for, and arrived in Mt. Ayr Monday evening. The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon and the interment made in Rose Hill cemetery. She was a pupil of the Mt. Ayr schools, and made her home with Mr. and Mrs. I. M. LONG of this city. Her classmates with their teacher Miss Ollie SAMS, attended the funeral in a body.

NOTE: Alta was born in 1890 and was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
