OBITUARY.

[Katrina] "Catherine" DOORAK SLAVIK was born in Bohemia April 30, 1856, and passed away at the home of her son, Lewis SLAVIK, January 13, 1928, aged 71 year, 8 months and 13 days.

She was united in marriage to Frank SLAVIK on September 18, 1881. To this union six children were born, five boys and one girl, all but one whom were born in Bohemia.

In 1893 they came to the U.S.A. and took up their home in Ringgold county, Iowa, two and one-half miles of Diagonal, where they always resided. Her husband preceded her in death on January 16, 1896.

Mrs. SLAVIK was a member of the Bohemian church. She leaves to mourn her death her three sons, Joseph, Lewis and John, of Diagonal. Three of the children having preceded her in death.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Bohemian church, conducted by Rev. D. W. THOMPSON of the Diagonal Presbyterian church [with interment at Bohemian Cemetery near Diagonal, Ringgold County, Iowa].

NOTE: Frank SLAVIK, husband of Katrina "Catherine" (DOORAK), was born in 1859, and died January 16, 1896 and was interred at Bohemian Cemetery. Of Catherine and Frank SLAVIK's children: Frank SLAVIK Jr. was born in 1882, and died in 1904; Joseph SLAVIK was born in 1884, and died in 1972 with interment at Bohemian Cemetery; Lewis SLAVIK was born in 1886, and died in 1985 with interment at Bohemian Cemetery; Antone SLAVIK was born June 8, 1891, and died February 22, 1925 with interment at Bohemian Cemetery; John SLAVIK was born in 1994 and died in 1965 with interment at Bohemian Cemetery. Also interred at Bohemian Cemetery is an infant daughter who died July 15, 1917.
