OBITUARY - BOYD MILTON SHAW.

Boyd Milton SHAW, son of Chas. M. and Kate SHAW, was born near Murray, [Clarke County] Iowa, January 7, 1894, and departed this life at his home near Beaconsfield, Iowa, March 14, 1932, aged 38 years, two months and seven days.

He was united in marriage January 6, 1915, to Sarah Grace JACKSON, of Hopeville, [Clarke County] Iowa. To this union were born four sons, Merrill M. aged 16, J. Russell aged 14, S. Wayne aged 12 and John M. aged 10. All of them were with him when the end came. Those left to mourn the loss besides his wife and four sons are his father, Chas. M. SHAW of Thayer, Iowa; one brother, Vinton SHAW, of Creston, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Elgie WAKE of Thayer, Iowa, Mrs. Bessie KIRK of Lorimor, Iowa, and Mrs. Raymond JOHNSTON of Ellston, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Boyd, as he was known to all his friends, spent the greater part of his life in Clarke county, having lived there in the present home only three years, yet his departure will be sadly felt by everyone, as he had endeared himself to all by his acts of kindness and for his love and devotion to his wife and sons.

He was a member of the M.E. church, having been baptized into this faith at Murray, Iowa, when just a young man. Boyd was ill only two weeks, but his suffering was intense, but all that loving hands and medical skill could do was gladly given to make his last days as comfortable as possible, which was greatly appreciated by the patient sufferer.

Another home circle is broken, a kind and loving husband and father will be sadly missed. What a world this would be, and how unendurable its weight of sorrow and troubles, if it were not for the knowledge and promise of our Father that we will meet again after death hath rest us apart.

A dear one from our home has passed,
To his home in Heaven unsurpassed.
His voice is stilled,
His soul at rest,
But God has willed
And He knows best.

The funeral service was held in the M. E. church at Hopeville Wednesday, March 16, 1932, at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. and Mrs. WOLFE, of Lorimor, Iowa. Interment made in Hopeville cemetery [Clarke County, Iowa].

NOTE: Boyd's wife Sarah "Grace" (JACKSON) SHAW was born in 1894, the daughter of Jonathan Milton and Rowena "May" (THURLOW) JACKSON, and died in 1975 with interment at the Hopeville Cemetery.
