OBITUARY

Funeral services for Reuben BEAR of San Mateo [CA] will be held tonight at 7:30 in O'Connell's Chapel, 1311 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo.

Mr. BEAR died Tuesday of an illness in Mills Hospital, San Mateo. He was 73.

Mr. BEAR was born in Iowa and had lived in San Mateo since 1950. He was a retired switchman for Southern Pacific Railroad.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Clod Hoppers Square Dance Club and the Shoreview Senior Citizens.

Mr. BEAR is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, John of Half Moon Bay; his stepsons, Paul LEWERENZ of San Jose and Jerome LEWERENZ of Manteca; a stepdaughter, Willis STEVENS of San Mateo; a brother, Orville of Iowa; sisters, Theola BARBOUR and Doris CAMPBELL, both of Iowa; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit beginning at 1 p.m. today. Private burial services will be held in Skylawn Memorial Park near Half Moon Bay.

The family suggests donations to a favorite charity.
