OBITUARY - DAVID XEN CHARTRAND

David Xen CHARTRAND was born to Boyd J. & Kathryn (Faust) CHARTRAND in the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr on February 25, 1957. David graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1975. He furthered his education at Southwestern Community College in Creston in the building & trades vocation. He also took structural drafting and computer classes.

David worked at the siding and window installation business as long as his health permitted. He enjoyed working and being in the outdoors. David was also accomplished in making stained glass designs. He enjoyed the years that he had a cabin at Loch Ayr. David fished and hunted with his friends. David’s real love was racing. He attended the Knoxville Nationals for 30+ years, missing only this past year. David also enjoyed other types of car racing but Sprint cars were his favorite.

David’s health had been declining but he passed away suddenly on October 21, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father; brother Kim Douglas CHARTRAND; and his grandparents.

David is survived by his mother Kathryn CHARTRAND of Mount Ayr; two uncles Howard FAUST & wife Kathy of Mount Ayr and Dr. Claire FAUST & wife Hazel of Mankato, MN; cousins and many good and dear friends.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, Wilson - Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
