Tingley Vindicator, 1894

OBITUARY.

James Henry MORRISON was born Nov. 13, 1857, came to Iowa this county nearly twenty years ago, was married Jan. 18, 1881 to Miss Julie GALLOWAY, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel GALLOWAY of this city.

Mr. MORRISON has been a consistent member of the U. P. church for twelve years and has been a ruling elder in the Tingley congregation for about five years.

Mr. MORRISON has a farm at the edge of town on which he has lived and worked until over a year ago, when he was engaged as assistant cashier of the Tingley bank where he remained as long as his health would permit. He was a great sufferer and to relieve his suffering he was in the hand of surgeons and also went to Greeley, Colo., but all to no avail. He failed rapidly until the end came Saturday evening, Dec. 22, when he fell asleep quietly among his friends.

Mr. MORRISON leaves a wife and little daughter, Myrtle, and brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. Funeral services took place in the U. P. church Sunday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. P. GIBSON, assisted by Rev. A. HANCOX of the Methodist church [with interment at Tingley Cemetery, Tingley, Ringgold County, Iowa].
