DEATH of J. H. MITCHELL.

This sad event occurred on Friday, September 27, 1895. It was not an unexpected event. Mr. MITCHELL has been feeble all the past summer, and in the ordinary course of things it was expected that deathwould soon come. Mr. MITCHELL was born in 1845 in Illinois, and was brought up in that state. In 1876 he was united to Miss Rebecca STANLEY in marriage, who still lives to lament his death. He came to Ringgold in 1878. For many years he hws been a member of the M. E. church at High Point and was an active efficient helper in church work, and his loss will be deeply felt by that little society. The funeral took place from that church on Saturday, September 28th, conducted by Rev. H. T. JACKSON of Mt. Ayr.
