DEATH of JAMES D. MILLER.

James D. MILLER, an old and highly respected citizen of Ringgold county, died at his home in Washington township, on Monday, February 26th, 1894, at 10 a. m. Mr. MILLER had been sick something over one week. During the cold weather of last week, he went on some business to a distant neighbor's, and not realizing that it was so cold, did not wear an overcoat. He became thoroughly chilled and general congestion followed, from which he was unable to rally, though he struggled long.

Mr. MILLER was born in Carroll county, Ohio, October 1, 1823, and was aged 70 years, 2 months and 22 days. In 1848, he was married to Mary A. BEVINGTON. They moved to Iowa in 1863. Mr. and Mrs. MILLER had four children. Only two of them are now living, one son, Thomas and one daughter, Mrs. DENHART.

Mr. MILLER was recognized by all as a good citizen and was loved and respected by all, because of his uniform courteous conduct, and his profound respect for the rights of all. As a neighbor and friend he was generally beloved, and as a citizen he was a good example in all duties and obligations. He has added much to the improvement of his neighborhood and will be seriously missed. The funeral took place from the M. E. church, Wednesday, February 28, and was conducted by Revs. C. L. NYE and B. D. HINEBAUGH. [Interment was at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.]

Mary A. (BEVINGTON), wife of James D. MILLER, died in 1905 and was interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
