DEATH of JAMES A. McCLURG.

After an illness of several years' duration, James A. McCLURG, a highly respected citizen of Mount Ayr, passed peacefully away Thursday, September 3. Mr. McCLURG had been a long and patient sufferer, being confined to his home during the last few years of his life. He was a man of sterling character, generous impulses and kind disposition.

The funeral was held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock, from the home, being conducted by Rev. T. S. RHOADES, assisted by Rev. W. J. COULSTON, pastor of the Baptist Church.

NOTE: James A. McCLURG was born in 1852. He was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
