OBITUARY - EUDORA McANINCH

The subject of this sketch, Eudora McANINCH, was born in Poe township, Ringgold County, Iowa, April 14th, 1870. While in her 16th year, she became deeply impressed with the claims of religion and of her necessity of a Savior. She perseveringly sought acceptance with God through Christ, in the month of February 1886, after a severe struggle with her own heart, she obtained peace; she united in church fellowship the same year with the M. E. church, at Caldonia under the pastorate of Rev. FAUSETT. She lived a truly devoted life admired and beloved by all. Her trust in Christ was so complete that she her last sickness [Typhoid fever] came upon her she had no fear as to the results. She seemed to have the sentiment of the apostle: "For me to depart and be with Christ is far better" than even earth's joys.

She died Sept. 6th, 1887, aged 17 years, 4 months and 22 days. The happy spirit as it passed away seemed to leave behind on the face of clay the impress of peace, to admonish us that remained how desirable it is to: "Die the death of the righteous" whos' end is peace. God bless the dear friends with the comforting influences of His love. The funeral was largely attended, sermon from James 4:14, by F. S. LOCKE.

NOTE: Eudora was interred at Shaha (a.k.a. Prall) Cemetery near Mount Ayr, Poe Township, Ringgold County, Iowa.
