OBITUARY.

Died, April 18, 1887, at Wirt, Iowa, after an illness of two weeks, Mrs. Fannie MAXWELL nee WOODARD, wife of Dr. J. P. MAXWELL. The deceased was the daughter of Wm. and Matilda WOODARD, of Decatur City. She was born in Des Moines county, Iowa, Dec. 10, 1862, and moved with her parents to Decatur county in 1869. She joined the Christian church at Decatur in 1884, and was baptized by Rev. Burrell HANNAH, and was a member of said church at the time of her death.

She was married to Dr. J. P. MAXWELL, Sept. 7th, 1884, since which time up to her death, she has resided in Wirt, Ringgold county, Iowa, where she has established a large circle of warm and devoted friends who with her bereaved husband and relatives are left to mourn her departure. She had implicit faith in her Savior. In her last illness she was assidously attended by Drs. HORNE, SELBY and BONE and all the aid that professional skill and loving hands could offer was given her. But God's will is supreme and before it we must all bow. Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. WIRTH, at Wirt, Wednesday, April 20th, at 10 A.M. and remains taken to Decatur City for burial, where sermon was preached by Rev. LAMON, of Leon, Iowa.

NOTE: Fannie was twenty-six-years-old at the time of her death.
