DEATH NOTICE

LUCKIEWICZ, Rowena Moon, 89, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, died December 13, 2006 at Mount Ayr Health Care Center. At Mrs. LUCKIEWICAZ's request, she was cremated with a private inurnment in Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa. Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, was in charge of the arrangements.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

OBITUARY - ROWENA MOON LUCKIEWICZ

Rowena J. (MOON) LUCKIEWICZ, 89, of Mount Ayr Health Care Center, Mount Ayr, Iowa, formerly of Cumberland MD, died there Thursday, December 14, 2006.

Born June 8, 1917 in Kellerton, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late James MOON and Fern (McCULLOUGH) MOON. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Luckie" LUCKIEWICZ of Cumberland, MD on January 9, 1965; sisters, Gerata MOSBARGER and Theola AKRES; and infant brother, James MOON.

Rowena was a 1934 graduate of Beaconsfield High School in Iowa. She attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College and Frosburg University. She was an elementary teacher of 31 years. From 1955 to 1963 she taught at Patterson Creek Schoo, Patterson Creek, West Virginia. The last seventeen years of her teaching career, from 1964 to 1981, was at Irving Elementary School, Creston, Iowa. Mrs. LUCKIEWICZ was a member of the Iowa Retired Teachers Association, Order of Eastern Star, the Kellerton Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Eldeen Ladies Club, both of Kellerton.

Surviving are daughter, Joyce A. (LUCKIEWICZ) SANDERS and husband Rodney, LaVale, MD; grandson, Murray J. GORNALL and wife Shannon, Cumberland; granddaughter, Amanda J. KOFFMAN and husband Dr. Brad KOFFMAN, Overland Park, KS; great grandchildren, Tate and Madson GORNALL of Pittsburgh, PA; great granddaughter Rowan GORNALL, Cumberland, MD; twin great grandchildren, Quinn and Cadence KOFFMAN, Overland Park, KS; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
