Ringgold Record, 1882

OBITUARY.

DIED Oct., 19th 1882, in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Pearlie LIGGETT age 7 years 10 months and 12 days.

But seldom has the death of a child been so deeply felt as that of Pearlie, because of her winning and confidential ways, she was a general favorite in church, sabbath school, school and neighborhood. Nearly always smiling, she trustfully drew near to others as they drew near to her in affectionate love. Many persons cope with her sorrowing parents. Well did she illustrate "except ye become as little children ye cannot enter the kingdom of God." --T.

NOTE: Pearl Forest LIGGET was the daughter of John Halldane LIGGETT and his first wife, Alice A. (COLE) LIGGETT (1861-1890. Pearl was interred beside her sister, Mary Ellen (1872-1881) at Oak Ridge (a.k.a. Forrest Home) Cemetery near Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
