DEATH OF MRS. EMMA LESAN

After an illness of two years' duration Mrs. Emma LESAN died at the home of her son, Howard Lesan, in Poe township, Monday afternoon [February 18, 1929] at the age of 73 years, seven months and 24 days. Mrs. LESAN, whose maiden name was Emma PIERSON was born in Ohio, June 24, 1855 and came to Ringgold county in the year 1861. She is survived by her two sons, Howard P. of Poe township and C. K. LESAN, of Maderia, Calif., who visited with his mother during the holidays; and two sisters, Mrs. John E. SCOTT, of Mount Ayr, and Mrs. Ellis M. TRINDLE, of Los Angeles, Calif. Her husband, Joseph E. LESAN, preceded her in death about twelve years ago. Funeral services were held from the United Presbyterian church in Mount Ayr yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. G. S. GLADFELTER. An obituary is not available for publication this week.

NOTE: Joseph E. LESAN, husband of Emma R. (PIERSON), was born on December 29, 1945, and died on January 25, 1917. Their son, Howard P. LESAN, was born on February 13, 1881, and died on January 14, 1952. Joseph, Emma, and Howard were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
