DEATH of JOHN FERTIG

Died on Sunday, April 15, 1894, Mr. John FERTIG, aged 73 years.

Mr. FERTIG was an old citizen in the county and greatly respected by all. His death was somewhat undexpected. From supposed good heath he suddenly passed to the world beyond. We have not learned the early incidents of his life, such as place of birth and removals. He leaves a wife, three sons and two daughters. The funeral took place from the M.E. church at Benton at 10 a.m., Thursady, conducted by Rev. B. D. HIMEBAUGH. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery north of Benton. The large attendance present at the funeral told of the high esteeem and respect in which he was held.

NOTE: Sarah (?) FERTIG, wife of John, died at age 80 years, 11 months and 9 days on July 4, 1908, with interment at Benton Cemetery.
