LARRY D. SHOOK

Larry D. Shook, 47, of Grinnell died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the home of his parents in Grinnell.

A funeral service was held Monday, May 17, at Smith Funeral Home. Memorials May be made to the Larry Dean Shook Memorial Fund.

He was born June 8, 1962, at Fort Sill, Okla., to Kenneth and Joyce Howard Shook. His family moved to Grinnell that year, and he attended Grinnell schools, graduating from Grinnell High School. He was united in marriage with Dawn Bogue on June 24, 1989, and they were parents of a daughter, Crystal Marie Shook. They were later divorced.

He was employed at Certainteed, Godfather's Pizza and ultimately at Jeld-Wen. He was a committed skateboarder and bicycler, including participation in several RAGBRAIs.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Shook of Chicago, Ill.; his parents, Kenneth and Joyce Shook of Grinnell; and his brother, Ron Shook of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Harvey.
